The Ohio Paw Paw Festival started 21 years ago at Lake Snowden, in Albany, Ohio, as a small event by local entrepreneurs Chris Chmiel and Michelle Gorman, to show off the power of this amazing fruit. I remember the very first fest, I was working at Casa Nueva at the time and me and my partner whipped up an awesome batch of Paw Paw Salsa, quite the hit if I remember correctly.
Since then the fest has grown in size and popularity, recently drawing as many as 6,000 attendees! They now include so many family fun activities they are hard to count, – bouncy castles, – local crafts and jewelry, – full stage with 3 days of live bands, – seminars, – fair rides, – and more food carts than you can count. The event has something for everyone and that is for sure.
